Project Manager

Location: Bethlehem, PA

Rotating Machinery Services is seeking qualified applicants for our current opening for a Project Manager for our Bethlehem, PA location.

The Project Manager’s primary functions are to plan out and track all phases of a project to ensure the finished product is delivered complete, on time and within budget. The Project Manager will communicate with the customer and all disciplines in a timely manner the progress and requirements needed throughout the duration of the project.

  • Review and verify all paperwork handed over in the project kickoff meeting is correct and clearly identifies the responsibilities during the duration of the project and advise marketing of any and all discrepancies
  • Provide marketing with schedules for proposals when required
  • Coordinate with marketing/sales project changes, adders, duration and deliverables for customer consideration
  • Include sales on pertinent communication with the customer
  • Develop drawing list and required dates with engineering and lead draftsperson; track drawing progress
  • Review drawings upon completion to determine Power and Vendor requirements
  • Write work orders or requisitions based on drawings
  • Assign material traceability numbers
  • Writing requisitions – requisitions will include type of material, quantity, description, required date, budgeted cost, required documentation and certifications
    • Assign the purchase order number
    • Review requisition with purchasing to assure compliance with requirements
    • Track the placement of the requisition thru the purchase order phase up to delivery
  • Assist in communications when necessary between vendor and RMS
  • Fill out cost impact forms when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a major in Engineering and/or Business
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience within the same industry or practice
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Additional experience in the following is a plus, though not required:

  • Microsoft Project
  • JobBOSS

Buyer/Purchasing Coordinator

Location: Houston, TX

Rotating Machinery Services is seeking qualified applicants for our current opening for a Buyer/Purchasing Coordinator in Houston, TX.

The Buyer/Purchasing Coordinator’s primary functions are to purchase requirements in their assigned commodities to meet quality and delivery requirements as well as looking for potential saving opportunities. This position will also monitor open orders across commodities including shipments, deliveries and schedules to ensure dates are achieved.

  • Quoting, negotiating and order placement of assigned commodities
  • Implementation of cost saving strategies/volume discounts etc.
  • Coordinate nonconforming/deviation request with quality control and engineering
  • Maintain current delivery dates in JobBOSS system
  • Manage yearly calibration orders and other purchasing related tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, Materials management and planning
  • Experience in procuring and managing: RAW Materials, MRO, Stampings, Engraving, Pipe and fittings as well as many other industrial items
  • Purchasing in a mechanical environment
  • Travel will be required and evenings and weekends depending on Project needs
  • Strong organizational, communication and computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Houston, TX

Rotating machinery Services is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to be a key member of the Accounting and Finance Team. The successful candidate must be a detail-oriented professional with outstanding people skills and the desire to help us grow our business through hard work and innovative thinking.

The Accounts Payable Specialist position will be primarily responsible for the full accounts payable cycle, including compiling, processing, and maintaining accounts payable records and other related duties as assigned. The candidate should be able to adapt and work within a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

Accounts Payable

  • Ability to process manually 500+ invoices each month
  • Manually Process 3 way match – Matching Purchase Order (PO) / multiple PO line items to vendor invoices
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries and managing vendor relationships via phone or email
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Review/reconcile PO line items report monthly and investigate open PO line items, resolve and close the PO line items timely
  • 1099 filing, disbursement and maintenance
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Manages use tax for Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas
  • Files use tax for Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas
  • Processes expense reports (audits and posts) for reimbursements due to employees from expense reports
  • Prepares vendor credit applications
  • Vendor setup
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Reduces waste and non-value activities
  • All other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • At a minimum have obtained Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Business or possess relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years processing accounts payables in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member  in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
  • Strong problem solving skills, decision making skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and operate 10-key by touch quickly
  • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements

Machinist

Location: Bethlehem, PA and Houston, TX

Rotating Machinery Services is seeking qualified applicants for our current opening for Machinist for our Houston, TX and Bethlehem, PA locations.

The Machinist primary functions are to perform a variety of basic machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, and threading operations on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.

  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • Ability and willingness to work in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane/acetylene torches
  • Ability and willingness to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand)
  • Basic oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
  • Must be familiar with basic machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations
  • Must be competent reading drawings and following instructions necessary to produce usable and saleable parts
  • Must be able to hold tolerances as dictated by drawings, written instructions, or industry standards
  • Must be proficient with the use of, the care of, and the calibration of all types of measuring devices (e.g., micrometers (OD and ID), dial calipers, dial indicators, etc.)
  • Must possess and provide basic tools required for the execution of the position of manual machinist
  • Must be able to comply with all safety directives and programs established by RMS and or our customers

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Mechanic

Location: Bethlehem, PA and Houston, TX

Rotating Machinery Services is seeking qualified applicants for our current opening for Mechanic for our Houston, TX and Bethlehem, PA locations.

The Mechanic position will perform a variety of mechanical operations / tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

Knowledge Requirements:

The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.

  • Complete “as received” photo documentation and visual inspection of assemblies and customer furnished spare parts
  • Disassemble complex rotating equipment and provide written observations of failure modes and condition of “as received” parts
  • Assist in cleaning and prepping parts for NDT and PMI examination
  • Perform and document detailed dimensional and runout inspection of all components
  • Provide written inspection report, to include recommended repairs, and replacement parts needed
  • Provide written instructions and drawings to other crafts involved in manufacture or repair of components
  • Perform quality checks on customer furnished, manufactured, and repaired components prior to final assembly
  • Assemble equipment complete per OEM, ASME, API, or customer supplied specification
  • Document all final sizes, clearances, and documentation to provide customer with a final repair report
  • Set up and perform hydrotest or pneumatic pressure test, as required, on equipment per customer specifications
  • Communicate with supervision, crafts, and customers during the inspection and repair process
  • Supply basic mechanics tools and measuring devices required to complete work as assigned
