Who Is RMS?
Rotating Machinery Services (RMS) was established in 1998 with the vision to reinvent the concept of an aftermarket turbomachinery business. The goal was to provide turbomachinery operators with unparalleled service based on established relationships, solid engineering, and technical expertise—all backed by responsiveness in competitive prices and lead times.
In September 2021 RMS announces its completion of ISO 9001:2015 Certification at its Bethlehem, PA, Appleton, WI, and Houston, TX locations. The Certification Body of TUV SUD America Inc. Auditors presented the certificate to RMS following an audit conducted at each of RMS’s locations. The ISO 9001:2015 certification is an important accomplishment for the organization and demonstrates RMS’s commitment to delivering consistent quality products and services to its customers.
In October of 2021, RMS acquired Axis Technical Services. RMS’s expanded Field Service Team offers experienced technical field advisors, rotating equipment planners & schedulers for turbine, compressor, and generator repair, overhaul, inspection, and installation. Additional services include consulting for start-ups and commissioning through experts in project management, QA/QC, and technical direction.
In July of 2022, Rotating Machinery Services announced the acquisition of Breaux Machine Works. This acquisition brings the people, skills, and infrastructure of Breaux Machine Works’ industry-leading machining capabilities into the RMS portfolio of aftermarket upgrades, repair, maintenance, and rebuilding/overhaul services for large, highly engineered rotating equipment. The addition of Breaux Machine Works to the RMS portfolio of businesses means that customers now have two RMS Houston-based ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing centers to rely on for high-quality service and support.
In April of 2023 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor International Corporation (MCO-I), a global leader in the design, manufacture, and after-market services of API centrifugal compressors and steam turbines, has announced a partnership with Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. (RMS), a world-class provider in engineering, repair, and maintenance services to critical rotating equipment.The strategic partnership, based in MCO-I’s North American facilities, pertains to shop services including, but not limited to, inspections and repairs of critical rotating equipment. The collaboration is designed to better serve both existing and new customers through joint synergies and increased capabilities between the two companies.
In may of 2023 RMS announce the acquisition of Origin Metrology Group, an industry leader in advanced metrology solutions for the repair and installation of rotating equipment. The resulting combination of RMS’s global engineering, repair, and maintenance services dedicated to operators of sophisticated rotating equipment with Origin Metrology Group’s cutting-edge metrology capabilities will lead to vastly improved customer outcomes through transformational capabilities. RMS will make these solutions available to customers around the world who will be able to experience more precise and faster turnarounds enabled by digital technology.
In November of 2023 RMS announced the acquisition of Plant Process Machine Works LLC (PPMW). This acquisition combines RMS’s industry-leading rotating equipment support with Plant Process Machine Works’ experienced staff of reciprocating compressor experts to offer customers a complete solution for all of their compression needs. The addition of PPMW to the RMS portfolio allows RMS to offer the same engineered solutions our rotating equipment customers have come to expect to our new customer base of reciprocating compressor operators. The additional product offerings PPMW brings to RMS will be available to customers around the world who will now experience RMS’s support for their fleets of reciprocating compressors.
